- Persimmon Powder from Discarded Fruits as a Potential Prebiotic to Modulate Gut Microbiota in Postmenopausal Women. 2026 PMID 41683069 PMC12897050 own_data
Archive description
We evaluated the effects of dehydration and milling processes used to obtain powder from persimmon residues on colonic microbiota composition. Hot air drying at 70 °C was selected because it yielded a powder with the best functional properties. We then assessed the prebiotic effects of this persimmon-based ingredient on the postmenopausal women’s microbiota in a long-term study using a dynamic intestinal simulator coupled with high-throughput sequencing.
