Low birth weight men, exercise/overfeeding intervention, Denmark

Metagenomic analysis of the gut microbiome of individuals born at low birth weight

130 gut metagenome samples from healthy adult Caucasian males born at low birth weight in Denmark, studying whether 12 weeks of exercise training reverses cardiometabolic effects of 4 weeks of carbohydrate overfeeding. machine-written summary

Archive description

This study aimed to investigate whether 12 weeks of exercise training can revert and/or minimize the deleterious cardiometabolic effects of 4 weeks of carbohydrate overfeeding in individuals born with low birth weight and increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This study recruited a total of 48 healthy Caucasian males, born between 1979 and 1980 at full term (gestational weeks 39–41)
