MDCF trial in malnourished infants, Bangladesh (Kurigram/Dhaka)
760 gut microbiome samples from Bangladeshi infants with severe/moderate acute malnutrition, from Kurigram (532) and Dhaka (228), in a randomized controlled trial comparing a Microbiota-Directed Complementary Food to a ready-to-use supplementary food. machine-written summary

Archive description
Complete anthropometric recovery from severe acute malnutrition using standard therapeutic inventions is rare rather, children treated for severe acute malnutrition (SAM) often are left in a state of moderate acute malnutrition (MAM). Here we conduct a randomized controlled clinical trial to investigate the efficacy of a standard dietary treatment for SAM in 12-18-month-old Bangladeshi children followed by a 3-month-long treatment with a Microbiota-Directed Complementary Food (MDCF) versus a ready to use supplementary food.
