Gut microbiome obesity index in obese vs healthy adults, Poland

Gut microbiome obesity index, a new analytical part of the metagenomics workflow to evaluate gut dysbiosis in obese humans

Shotgun metagenomic sequencing of stool from 91 adults in Poland (63 obesity, 28 healthy controls) used to derive a taxonomy- and function-based gut microbiome obesity index correlated with BMI. machine-written summary

Archive description

Having access to stool samples from obese people with a wide range of obesity, we analyzed metagenomics data using a standard analytical pipeline previously used in our research, and the results obtained allowed us to create a new method of analysis, named the gut microbiome obesity index, using a set of taxa whose relative abundances correlated with the degree of obesity
