Archive description
A total of 26 patients with IBS diagnosed according to the Rome IV criteria were enrolled and included in the final analysis. Additionally, 35 healthy controls without gastrointestinal symptoms were recruited from individuals undergoing routine physical examinations. Exclusion criteria included: age <18 years, history of abdominal surgery, thyroid dysfunction, abnormal liver function, renal diseases, active gastrointestinal symptoms infections, pregnancy, alcohol consumption, use of psychoactive drugs or other medications affecting gastrointestinal symptoms /neurological functions within 7 days, antibiotic use within 3 months, or participation in other clinical trials within 3 months.
