longitudinal
192 of 200 people sampled more than once (801 samples; median 4, up to 5 per person) · follow-up median 23 mo (max 2.5 y) · median interval between samples 6 mo (time from age at collection). Schedule stated by the source: “921 stool samples from 209 Latino infants across five timepoints: 1, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months of age” (time origin: birth); stated follow-up 2.0 y.
Each row is one person (36 shown of 192); dots are samples at days since that person's first sample.

Archive description
The infant gut microbiome matures rapidly in early life, yet species-level longitudinal data remain limited. We performed metagenomic sequencing on 921 stool samples from 209 Latino infants living in Southern California across five timepoints, 1-month, 6-months, 12-months, 18-months and 24-months.
