Archive description

This study characterizes the gut microbiome composition and functional potential in treatment-naive tuberculosis (TB) patients prior to chemotherapy initiation, as well as in TB patients after treatment. Using deep metagenomic sequencing of fecal samples from drug-naive TB patients and patients who completed anti-TB therapy, we reconstructed the metabolic capacity and strain-level diversity of the intestinal microbial community. These findings establish a fundamental baseline of the gut microbiome in tuberculosis patients and provide data for understanding how anti-TB chemotherapy alters the gut ecosystem, potentially informing personalized treatment approaches.
