Sampling design and relatedness

longitudinal — not resolved

23 of 23 people sampled more than once (90 samples; median 4, up to 4 per person). Schedule stated by the source: “Repeated stool sampling per subject at study_day 0,28 (period 1: baseline, end of treatment) and 42,70 (period 2: baseline, end of treatment) in a two-period crossover trial” (time origin: study/period enrolment (period 1 start)); stated follow-up 2 mo.

Probiotic efficacy is hypothesized to depend on reliable intestinal exposure, yet clinical evidence linking delivery engineering to measurable microbiome responses in humans remains limited. We evaluated dose response effects of microencapsulated Lacticaseibacil-lus rhamnosus GG on gastrointestinal tolerance and gut microbiome composition in 26 healthy adults in a randomized, double-blind, two period crossover trial.
