BJT2D study was designed as an exploratory, randomized, controlled, open-labeled, interventional trial. One hundred newly diagnosed overweight/obese T2D patients were recruited for the study and were randomly assigned to the acarbose or vildagliptin group in a 1:1 ratio. During the 24-week intervention, lifestyle guidance was provided by the investigators at baseline, 24-week (endpoint) visits to assess medication adherence. And fecal samples were selected and sequenced at baseline and 24-week. The aim of this study to investigate the microbiome-drug interaction.
